Brad & Susan Phillips

Founders, Board President & Executive Director

Brad and Susan Phillips both grew up in Michigan and first met while attending Michigan State University. They moved to Ohio and have called Aurora their home for over 25 years. They have three sons, including Luke, who has a chromosome defect called Ring 22. Luke played a significant role in leading both Brad and Susan to Christ. After visiting the Brookwood Community years ago, and realizing the need for services in the area, they were inspired to start something similar.

Susan is a co-founder of Camp Sunshine of Aurora, a summer camp designed for children with special needs to engage in activities with their peers. She has also been actively involved in the nonprofit and disability sectors. Brad has an MBA in Finance and currently works for Rockwell Automation as a Supply Chain Director. He has also been involved in the disability community as a Medicaid provider and has helped various nonprofits in their development.

Both are Tru Community founders. Brad serves as President of the board and Sue as the executive director.
